Puzzle #1: Once upon a time, an English Prince with most of his teeth, courage, decisiveness, and a crown was fortunate enough to meet a beautiful English rose. He swept her off her feet, and between the two of them sired one of the meanest kings ever to grace the royal thrown. Can you guess who they were, and who their son was? As a clue, here are some family tree pictures of the lovely couple, see if you can guess the rest.

Puzzle #2: Now, no one ever remembers the parents of awful people, just the awful people. Now that you’ve named the parents, what was the name of the soon to be most memorably MOODY King of England? OR, WAS HE JUST UNLUCKY IN LOVE? I’ll give you a clue. He really didn’t care much for most of his wives after the honeymoon period was over. What? You want another clue?

No.

Oh fine. Here’s AN OLD PORTRAIT OF the YOUTHFUL one day king.

Puzzle #3: By the end of his life, the guy you just guessed the name of above had a lot of wives. Some of these wives died by execution ordered by said husband, one died of natural causes, some got divorced, and one ended up the widow. So, name the six unfortunate wives of ______ the ______ of England.

Puzzle #4: Not everything that came out of England was bad. In fact, one of the greatest monarchs of all time was hatched because of SAID MOODY MONARCH. Considering at the last minute he re-attached her name to the possible list of heirs to the throne, I’m not sure I’m ready to give the dad father of the year status. So, let’s focus on the name of the mother of this woman. WHO WAS THE MOTHER OF THE QUEEN FEATURED BELOW? Oh, and what was the name of her daughter that became queen? Here’s a pic:

Puzzle #5: Oh! But all good things must come to an end. And that certainly was true when the Queen above passed without an heir. This guy FEATURED BELOW, however, was only too eager to jump on board the good ship Golden Age! He took over and things started to really go downhill for everyone’s favorite English land. Who is the guy shown below, and what can you tell me about his reign?

The English bloodlines continue into bloodier territory from here. If you’re interested in learning more, google keyword Tudor Dynasty and all kinds of facts and rumors come up about this historic family!

HERE’S A TOAST TO YOU for getting all the way through this puzzle, AND A WISH FROM ME TO YOU THAT YOUR NEW YEAR HAS STARTED OFF ROYALLY! MY HOPE FOR YOU IS THAT a GOLDEN AGE is ON THE HORIZON! Until next month, iGlobist Puzzlers, I bid you….Happy Puzzling!!
