Swirling swiftly through the holly jolly holiday season, I do- initiating with Thanksgiving family feasting gatherings, rising action with stringing of lights, decorating of tree and home with the distinct benefits of cooking and baking season treats, and leading towards the climaxing event of Santa’s gifts on cheerful Christmas morning. Reaching an age of distinct maturity this year, I, myself was given the honor of taking my younger spirited cousins to the man of the season to discuss their Christmas morning wishes and take a photo op for precious prosperity. Dear clever, resourceful, and wise Santa Clause listened ever so carefully, processing and discussing the year in review of naughtiness and niceness.
Miraculously, he remains so jolly and positive throughout these endless days at the manic mall while listening to the excitement and wonder of the youngest amongst us. Imagine my surprise, when I became aware that I was the current cause for the unexpected silence, in actuality, the awkward silence of the moment. Apparently, Santa was waiting on my Christmas morning wish, before finishing with my cousins’ visit.
“And what would you like for Christmas this year?” he directed at me, asking with such disarming sincerity.
“I…I” stammering and thinking he is changing the rules here, as only the younger ones are set for wishing and discussing with the man of the season.
“I..I..I I would like more time.” I finally acknowledged, thinking of all I wanted to do this year, as well as, all the things I had missed out on doing this past year due to not having enough of this valuable, precious resource.
“HO, HO, HO, very good, I’ll look into that for you. Have a Merry Christmas!” He sweetly shared with merry delight and warm regards.
And what did jolly Santa Clause leave for me for Christmas, but a snow white parchment scroll, tied with an exquisite red satin bow and Santa’s golden seal? Calm curiosity swelled as I ever so carefully untied, unrolled, and revealed Santa’s gift:
Time
Granted and Grown by:
* Taking one step at a time
* Keeping things simple
* Staying positive
Stay wise my friend.
With love,
Santa
The gift of time is personal and great. “What is your take? Can you find more time or give more time?” I question. Sharing of your thoughts and comments below brings wisdom to us all.
Wishing everyone more time for a very Merry Holiday and a New Year full of discovering happiness, beauty, and truth.
