Jay Beagle is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Washington Capitals in the NHL. Born on October 16, 1985, He started his ice hockey career in the 2003-04 season with the Calgary Royals of the AJHL, registering thirty seven points. He continued playing for them in the 2004-05 season, registering an amazing seventy points. He then moved on to play for The University of Alaska-Anchorage for one and a half seasons, in 2005 -06 and half of 2006-07 registering 30 points in both years. In the middle of the 2006-07 season, he moved to play for The Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL for the rest of the 2006-07 season registering 10 points in eight games. From 2007-09, Beagle played for the Hershey Bears of the AHL and registered 78 points. He made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals February 11, 2009 in a 5-4 shootout defeat to the Rangers, although Beagle registered three shots on goal during the game. He moved to the Bears and the Capitals in 2009-10, then played for the Bears and the Capitals in the 2010-11 season. He continued playing for the Capitals in consecutive seasons, from 2010 until today, playing 192 games and registering 27 points. This season, Beagle is on pace for at least 10 goals, with 4 goals in 21 games.
