The Ghoul-est Treats for Halloween

Almost everyone gets excited for Halloween… the fun decorations, the cool costumes, and the delicious candy… who wouldn’t love some Halloween fun? But during Halloween, we can’t just eat candy every single day of the month, so we need some healthy and fun snacks incorporated into this fright fest. Here’s a collection of good-for-you treats you can make throughout the month (and a couple of treats at the end because it is HALLOWEEN).
First, these Deviled Spider Eggs by Shockingly Delicious are the tastiest spiders you will ever have, with a deviled egg on the bottom and a black olive spider resting on top. Not a fan of deviled eggs or short on time? Just use hard-boiled eggs. You can also use different olives if making several of these for a party. This snack creates the perfect combination between fun, creepy, and delicious.

Next, Fork and Beans made a fun-tastic Bride of Frankenstein Dip. Make your favorite guacamole or use store bought and decorate with black olives for the eyes and red bell peppers for the lips. The hair is made with blue and regular tortilla chips. Make as is or have fun with different veggies for the face. Such a fang-tastic addition to your Halloween party.

For Halloween fun, transform the usual Ants on a Log to Roaches on a Stick like Fork and Beans did. This snack is a tasty combination of salty, sweet, crunchy, and smooth. Whip up a batch of your own using celery and nut butter, with date bodies and pretzel legs for the roaches. Mmmmm…. Certainly the most roach-tastic thing you’re taste buds will ever encounter.

Now come the treats! First: Edible Earwax on a Swab via Very Culinary. Kinda gross, but really clever! Place a mini marshmallow on either end of a popsicle stick and dip in nut butter, Biscoff, Nutella, maybe even some of that guacamole you made. This is a treat that is sure to give your guests some shivers but satisfy their sweet tooth.

Our very last snack is the sweetest treat of all: delicious candy corn chocolate fudge from Mom On Time Out. You can change up the flavor of the fudge or even the type of candy corn, but it is such an inviting treat that screams, “HALLOWEEN!” This sure won’t be a corn-y addition to your party.

This Halloween, I’m giving you all a challenge: I want all of you to make at least one of the healthy snacks from this article (the candy corn fudge does not count! :P ). Drop into an iGlobe meeting (every Thursday at noon EST) and share pictures of your creations! Have the most boo-tiful Halloween, everyone!
